The European Cycle Messenger Championships (ECMC) is an event created for cycle messengers, by cycle messengers both old and new. This is an international event which happens every year and lasts for four days in various European locations.
The Event
The purpose of the competition is to bring together cycle messengers from different parts of Europe to battle it out for the ultimate title of being crowned the ‘European Cycle Messenger Champion’, of the year. Generally speaking it’s a good excuse to have some fun and meet other people working in the same profession, sharing the same interest and passion for cycling.
For all those spectating or supporting, there are a number of activities and events happening in and around the contest to make sure there’s something for everyone to do. Meeting points are established along the route where competitors and spectators can meet for a quick bite. In the evening live music performers and DJs provide entertainment so that everyone can have a chance to let their hair down. Group photo opportunities and award ceremonies also take place so that all involved can take a memento home.
The contest is sponsored by some big names from the industry representing courier firms and delivery services. If you are looking to get noticed for your courier skills the ECMC is the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills.
General Rules
The following are guidelines and rules which the competitors must adhere to in order for the organisers to ensure and maintain a safe and fair contest:
- Helmets must be worn at all times to ensure the safety of the cyclist.
- Your number must be visible at all times.
- Be at your race on time because you will not get a second chance.

Anyone who enters should note before registering that in the event of an accident, you will not be insured or entitled to any sort of compensation whatsoever. All participants who apply do so at their own risk and must sign a waver before being able to enter the competition.
